Story
How does one begin to memorialise a leader of such magnitude and global impact?
Even as South Africans living outside our homeland we have always had and will continue to have an unbreakable bond and undying respect for Tata Madiba.
There isn’t a corner of the world where his impact to South Africa and humanity at large has gone unnoticed.
As South Africans around the world are made aware of the news of his passing they will almost certainly pause and remember the profound impact his has had on us all.
For those of us fortunate to have met Madiba in person we will likely remember the aura of humility, passion and care that came from a single smile and handshake.
In eternal remembrance of this leader of leaders, we as South Africans living in Australia, encourage everyone who has been touched by his spirit and humanitarian efforts, to support our memorial drive and help Afrika Tikkun (one of only four organisations that Nelson Mandela awarded his patronage to) in continuing Madiba’s legacy.

Afrika Tikkun (Global Development Group - J586)
One of only 4 organisations that Nelson Mandela awarded his partronage to - and the only one in Australia - Afrika Tikkun is dedicated to assisting children affected by extreme poverty in South Africa's townships, survive and thrive.
Afrika Tikkun is a non-government organisation (NGO) that was founded in 1994 to offer resources, training and support to children and their families in South Africa’s poorest communities. Support is particularly focused on orphaned and vulnerable children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Afrika Tikkun's work centres on sustainable community development, including the provision of food and school fees; care, education and training in specially built community centres and outreach facilities - as well as caring for the very sick in their homes.
