Story

Dear All,

My son passed away when he was 6 years old in December 2010 due to terminal illness (adrenoleukodystrophy). I think that as a parent, to look after a boy passed away in front of you is a very difficult and heart breaking experiences. This will carry on for the rest of our journey. I wish that this fundraising will help the other children to save them from suffering and to provide a better environment for them. Providing this will also help the other parents and prevent them from suffering what I have suffered. I really hope more people will donate to help children.

Info about UNICEF:

UNICEF is on the ground providing humanitarian operations and aid. Amongst other responses, UNICEF:
  • is providing safe drinking water to 2.6 million people daily, and has distributed over 6 million water purification tablets, providing 6 million litres of clean water.
  • has helped set up 24 medical camps to support an estimated one million people.
is delivering high protein biscuits to thousands of children and their families to prevent malnutrition.
  • has commenced a vaccination program, reaching over 7.7 million children with measles vaccination and over 8.5 million children for polio.
  • has provided over 260, 000 people with sanitation facilities and 280,000 have been reached through hygiene promotion campaigns.
  • has set up 681 Temporary Learning Centres, benefitting approximately 52,654 children.

However, many people remain in need of life-saving humanitarian assistance and more funds are urgently needed. Please help us reach more vulnerable children and their families.

A donation of just $260 can provide 1,180 doses of measles vaccine, protecting children from this deadly disease.
A donation of just $125 can buy 208 Plumpy’nut sachets to provide vital nutrition for children.
A donation of just $350 can buy two UNICEF Family Water Kits, helping 20 families affected by emergencies.
