Story
Dear Club Members,
We ask you to kindly donate to Pancare as we have chosen this most worthy cause to be the charity fund for our Bulls in Pink Day event.
The 2018 Bulls in Pink Day and Champagne High Tea this year would like to donate our funds to the Pancare Foundation, in memory of one of our own members who sadly lost her fight this year with Pancreatic Cancer. Kim Walker, mother to Toby from our U8’s team.
By donating to this event, we can come together as a community to help raise funds to support more patient services, early detection and research into new treatments.
In almost 40 years the survival rates for people with pancreatic cancer has not changed and only 7% live beyond five years. This is something we feel very passionate about changing.
Pancare Foundation is Australia’s only charity fighting pancreatic, liver, biliary, oesophageal and stomach cancers. The outcomes for patients diagnosed with these cancers has improved very little over the past four decades and represents a leading cause of cancer in society today; nevertheless, research remains severely under-funded. The aim of the Pancare Foundation is to increase survival rates and provide support to people affected from diagnosis through to recovery and bereavement.
Also - please save the 25th of August in your calendars and head down to Yallambie Park to watch the Senior Mens Team take on FC Clifton Hill wearing Pink Socks, in their efforts to raise awareness for this cause – it will be a fantastic day of football with Banyule City donating all proceeds of the Gate Admission and the Champagne High Tea to the cause.
We hope to see you all at the 2018 Bulls in Pink Day and as we endeavour to raise as much funds possible for the Pancare Foundation so they can help many others like Kim and her family.
Thank you for your generous donation.
