Story
Hi there!
My name is Bentley Cooke and I would like to share a story regarding the severity and the awful nature of pancreatic cancer
In June 2018 my grandmother, Jen, was told the most disturbing news she had ever heard. She had pancreatic cancer. After countless efforts to treat and fight the disease, she passed away in late November of that year. Less than 6 months after her diagnosis
In her honour I am competing in the Sparke Helmore Newcastle city corporate triathlon on the 25th of February 2019 . This triathlon takes place at Queens Wharf Hotel and travels around Nobby's and King Edward park.
If I fundraise $2000, I will wear a purple triathlon singlet (purple is the pancreatic cancer ribbon) and embroid the name "Jen" on the back of the suit in her honour. I hope you can all give generously and we can come closer to a cure for all pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancers. I am donating to the Pancare Foundation which is Australia's leading gastrointestinal cancer research and support charity
