Doreen Bianca Carr 1957-2019
Story
This year Swansona Avenue Mount Annan Christmas Light displays are raising money in aid of the eggtober foundation in memory of our Mum Doreen Bianca Carr who passed away on the 5th August 2019.
Our mum was the first person to hold us as we entered this world... and on Monday the 5th August 2019 at 06:20 hrs we held her as she left us. She was selfless... always worrying about others before herself, she was nurturing, she was accepting of anyone from all walks of life... she was brave and courageous, loving caring, loyal and most of all thankful... amazingly thankful right up to the end ensuring she let everyone know that helped her... even the guy who wheeled her back from surgery... thats just who she was.
Mum battled with cancer 4 times in her life and although she lost today she beat it 3 times.... each time she won gave us more memories with her, more of her advise, more help and guidance...
It's Eggtober so I wanted to share some very important information you may not be aware of in terms of Ovarian, Cervical & Uterine cancers. It's shocking!!!!
"These gynaecological cancers have a low public profile compared to others such as breast cancer & have very grim statistics.
"Known as the silent killer most ovarian cancers are not detected until an advanced stage, when prognosis is poor, hence the low survival rate.
The 5 YEAR survival rate of women with ovarian cancer between 1999 - 2003 in NSW was 42% compared with 88% for female breast cancer". (Extract from eggtober.com.au)
The Eggtober foundation aims to help improve survival rates by:
-Improving services in early detection & treatment through purchase of equipment and supplies to assist doctors and patients in Australia.
-Funding research into Gynaecological Cancer
-Promoting public awareness of Gynaecological Cancers
The Eggtober Foundation has been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient. THIS MEANS ALL DONATIONS TO THE EGGTOBER FOUNDATION ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
All cash donations made on site at the Swansona Avenue Christmas Light event this year will given to the Eggtober Foundation.
Thank you for your support... Neighbours of Swansona Avenue Mount Annan

The Eggtober Foundation Ltd
The Eggtober Foundation raises awareness and funds for gynaecological cancer units, professional, patient and community education and research. Gynaecological cancers have very grim statistics and are known as silent killers as most are not detected until at an advanced stage when the prognosis is poor. One woman dies every 10 hours from ovarian cancer. The 5 year survival rate is only 42%. The Eggtober Foundation aspires to have one gynaecological care nurse for every gynaecological cancer sufferer. Through our website, the mass media, political advocacy and presentations to community groups we promote the cause of women with gynaecological cancers. Through its endeavours The Eggtober Foundation aims to offer women better health outcomes, improved survival rates and ultimately through research find a cure.
