**UPDATE** Thanks to everyone for their generous contributions, far exceeding expectations & a testimony to the wonderful person Catherine was. In light of such amazing efforts to date ($3,000 seemed a very big target at the outset!) and recognising that a lot of people won't hear about this fundraiser until the funeral on Thursday, Cat's family have asked to increase our target. Hi Guys,
Please see below the post on Catherine's facebook wall from her uni friends Bek, Kylie, Kirsty and Ruth suggesting that those who would like to commemorate Catherine in a positive way may want to make a donation to her favourite charity Bush Heritage Australia.
Conscious some people may have already donated, but for those who haven't and would like to, Bush Heritage have suggested using this website to raise money in Catherine's name (most proceeds still go to the charity Bush Heritage). The benefit of this is the funds are pooled into Catherine's name, so depending on the amount of funds raised we could specify what area of Bush Heritage's work we'd like to put the money towards. Using the website also facililtates getting the tax deduction whilst still raising money under Catherine's name.

To all those who knew and loved Catherine:
As you may know, Catherine was a wildlife lover, and was passionate about conservation.
In such sad times, we'd like to create something meaningful and positive, and thus, in memory of her, we'd like to give a gift towards her favourite charity, Bushland Heritage, which aims to conserve bushland and wildlife species.
If anyone would like to make a gift of a donation, please visit the website below, or pass it on to myself, Kylie or Ruth, or you can slip it under my door in Rm 22 in Kendall hall. Any tax deductions will go straight back to the charity.
We are hoping to raise enough money to legally protect an area of bushland from redevelopment. We think this is something Catherine would have wanted.
