Jasmin's Challenge
Jasmin's Challenge
Story
On Tuesday, 12 March, Narrabeen North Public School is again taking part in our annual SHAVE AND COLOUR EVENT to raise money specifically to assist children who are battling cancer in Westmead Children’s Hospital Oncology Ward. This will be our 16th consecutive year supporting this charity. On the day, students should wear their sports uniform and are encouraged to come to school with crazy hairstyles to add to the fun.
From 2004-2007 our school community was inspired by the incredible courage, constant smile and cheerful spirit of a delightful little student, Jasmin Holliday, who tragically lost her four and a half year battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma (bone cancer) in June 2007. Westmead Children’s Oncology Ward provided great support to Jasmin, her family and their friends throughout her long ordeal.
Even as a little kindergartener, Jasmin was determined to help raise money “to help all the sick kids” that she’d met at Westmead Children’s Hospital. It is in her honour, and to show our ongoing support for her wonderful family, that we are asking that each student donate $5 for the privilege of having their hair coloured for this important cause.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thanks so much for your support!
