John Thava
John Thava
Story
It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather John Thava on Sunday 12th of July.
John was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the young age of 47. Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder and the early stages are quite mild and symptoms generally do not interfere with daily life. Over time, the symptoms of the disease become more apparent and cause issues in relation to balance, and a deterioration of movement and mobility. John did not have any other health problems which made him an ideal candidate for DBS (Deep Brain Surgery), a surgery that would not cure the illness but mitigate some of the symptoms of the disease. The operation ultimately extended his quality life for a few more years, enabling him to go on holidays and enjoy his twilight years with his children and his grandchildren.
John will always be remembered as a kind, loving and gentle man who lived a life full of love, positivity and happiness, but unfortunately was taken from us too soon.
We understand that some of you may want to make a contribution. Please select one of the pay options on this page to make a donation to Parkinson's Australia to further support research in finding a cure for Parkinson's disease.
