In loving memory of Laura Cannon
In loving memory of Laura Cannon
Story
My beautiful friend Laura has passed away less than one week after her 36th birthday. There are no words for such a loss. She was the most beautiful, kind and caring person. So generous with her time, so compassionate to all around her and so loving with animals. Her incredible patience was put to the test by an insidious illness that haunted her for over 20 years.
We were all in year 10 when we first noticed her exhibit symptoms of disordered eating. Negative comments about food, ducking off to the bathroom after lunch, missing school and feeling guilty about eating. But no one could ever have anticipated the way it drained the vitality from an otherwise sparkling young woman in so very many ways. She suffered with a smile on her face and yet deserved so much more.
Now finally at rest, Laura and her legacy will live on through The Butterfly Foundation's research into eating disorders. If you can, please donate to this fundraiser set up on behalf of her loving family – Wendy, Richard and Oliver.
