In Loving Memory of Margaret Buckley

Story

Our mum and grandma, Margaret, was so much more than the dementia that made the last three years of her life so difficult. She enjoyed a full and active life until the onset of the disease. She was the youngest of four siblings, the loving wife of her husband Frank (deceased), and ever present and much loved part of the lives of her children Mark, Glenda and Bronwyn and her grandkids Wayne, Kendal, Bethany, Bradley, Ashlea and Charlotte. Margaret passed away on 3 November 2018, aged 85.

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and there is no cure—at least not yet! Support from organisations like Dementia Australia is such a great help for the more than 413,000 Australians living with dementia, and their families like ourselves.

In fond memory of Margaret, please use this page to help Dementia Australia to fund research, and to provide support for all those affected by dementia.

Dementia Australia

Dementia Australia is a unified, national peak body for people, of all ages, living with all forms of dementia, and their families and carers. We provide advocacy, support services, education and information, as well as fundraise and facilitate research into dementia.

We aim to give people living with Dementia the respect they deserve and the support they need. We advocate to government and industry on behalf of people living with dementia, their carers and families and work hard to raise community awareness and understanding of dementia. Please visit www.dementia.org.au to access a wide range of resources and how to contact our National Dementia Helpline.

Community support through donations and sponsorship, as well as bequests, is vital to the continuation and growth of our work.
