In Loving Memory of Mumma Jo
Story
In memory of our dearly loved mother and grandmother Jo-Ann Di Santo or 'Mumma Jo'.
Jo-Ann was selfless, facing treatment for liver cancer for 7 years. She passed away on New Year’s Eve 2022. She went through so much, doing it all for more time with Dad, her family and friends, but especially for her grandchildren or as she called them her “heartbeats”. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life to the fullest and not letting anything get in her way.
Mumma Jo was the biological mother to four boys, but a mum to so many others. Taking friends or kids in that just needed somewhere safe, to be heard, fed, loved, or a bed to lie in. She had so much love to go around. And she would do anything to help ensure that nobody else has to go through what she went through.
Liver cancer is the fastest growing cancer in Australia. It is a brutal disease. We are raising funds to support the Liver Foundation in her memory and ask that you give generously, as Mum lived so generously, to help ensure no other family has to face this horrible disease.

The Liver Foundation exists to address the spectrum of liver disease from very mild disease in the community, right through to advanced liver disease. This is people requiring liver transplantation and people with severe complications of liver disease, including liver cancer.
Liver cancer is the fastest growing cause of cancer in Australia and it has a devastatingly low survival rate. Only 1 in 5 people diagnosed with liver cancer in Australia survive more than 5 years. This is a devastating outcome and one we are committed to changing.
Currently 1 in 3 Australians have some form of liver disease, and most of them don't know it. There is a great deal that can be done to reverse, treat and even cure liver diseases - but the first step is awareness.
