In Memory of Nathan Sawyer

Story

Around this time in 2010 the Curl Curl  community lost one of their own, Nathan Sawyer. He was only 17 years of age. His untimely passing brought attention to the harmful yet silent effects depression can have on young males. Following his death and despite the emotional loss, Nathan’s friends wanted to do something for Nathan’s family. They decided to hold a memorial Surf-Fest to bring the community together and to raise awareness about youth suicide.

It was an extraordinarily successful event attended by young and old and each year since then it has continued to have large community support. An important focus has also been on raising money for charities providing support to those experiencing depression.

In 2014 Nathan’s mates and the Curl Curl community are coming together again to remember Nathan and ensure that the tragic end to his life is not in vain.

Through here you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page above or comment below so more people know about it.

Click the green 'DONATE' button to make a secure online donation.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a DGR receipt via email as soon as you make a donation.

Thanks so much for your support!
