Story

BEARS OF HOPE 🐻 what is this bear I now take eveywhere with me?

The day we found out we would be spending our last with Milli, the nurses gave us these two bears. One was for us and one was for Milli. We spent the day with them all over her.

And at the end of the day, after she passed away we took one home and the other stayed with her.

A few days later we decided we wanted to see Milli in the funeral home, fully healed. We needed that. And her little bear was nestled in her wrap with her, so I swapped them again.

The bear I now carry everywhere with me was Milli’s bear. 🐻😭 The other was cremated with her 😭👼🏼🐻

I take this bear EVERYWHERE with me. It even has her hospital sticker peeling off the back. Its even had holes already that a friends mum patched for me.

In the 3 long months shes been gone, shes been to the cinema, on every podcast, she comes for coffee, she comes to dinner, I sleep with her. Shes been to Adelaide, shes travelling America with us. Shes poolside. She’s been to the basketball, the football, universal studies - EVERYWHERE.

Bears of Hope is the most beautiful organisation and I am SO thankful for them!

Who created this idea? A beautiful mumma who didnt have the kind of support and resources we have nowadays. She lost her Jesse 17 YEARS AGO!

I reached out to Amanda personally to thank her for starting Bears of Hope and remind her the inpact shes made - I asked her how I can contribute; she said to share Bears of Hope 🐻🫶🏽

When a parent loses their child - we CLING ONTO ANYTHING. And this bear, my Milli’s bear - even if just hers for a few hours - is SO special to me. SO IT WOULD MEAN SO MUCH TO ME IF YOU DONATED TO BEARS OF HOPE - in legacy and honour of our Milli Rose Remidy Evrard https://alegacyoflove.com.au/cms/home

Lets get more of these bears in more hospitals - IN MEMORY OF MILLI ROSE 🌹🫶🏽👼🏼🩷 THANK YOU!

I will be interviewing the founder of Bears of Hope on the podcast soon - Amanda, Jesse’s mum. 👼🏼🩵🫶🏽
