Shawn Claydon
Shawn Claydon
Story
Hi there!
I’m fundraising in memory of my brother, Shawn Claydon. I’m raising money for a cause that's close to my heart. Shawn passed away at age 50 from pancreatic cancer on 30 August 2018 after a six month battle.
Shawn was an elite athlete who competed locally, regionally and at state, national and international representative levels. His passion for marathons and half marathons not only lead to his life membership of the Mackay Road Runners Club but to world travel competing in the UK, USA, Scandinavia, Oceania and other places. His dedication to an absolute training regime saw his times continue to improve. He ran his last half marathon in Hobart in January 2018, only weeks prior to his diagnosis of stage IV pancreatic cancer.
The statistics show that approximately 3,364 men and women will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year. Up to 3,006 people will die from pancreatic cancer this year. There is only a seven per cent chance of surviving past five years. Please help us to change this statistic.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to the Pancare Foundation.
Thanks so much for your support!
