Story
I’m fundraising in memory of my father, who was, by far, the most gentle and amazing man I know. My father passed away from the effects of Motor Neurone Disease in 2009.
Every year, MND Australia runs several walks around the country, Walk to d'Feet MND. This year I am participating in two walks in Canberra (in June) and in Sydney (in November) to help raise awareness and money for MND/ALS, a cause which is incredibly close to my heart. My mother has participated in these walks for the last 10 years with other members of my family, and this year, I am joining her.
MND is in a category of diseases, where the neurones associated with movement undergo degeneration and die. These neurones fail to work properly, and slowly muscles weaken, until the neurones die. It is a progressive, degenerative and terminal disease that currently has no known cure. The current average life expectancy from diagnosis is 2.5 years.
Please support my efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thanks so much for your support!
Motor Neurone Disease Research Australia
MND Research Australia funds projects led by Australia’s leading MND researchers. By supporting MNDRA you are sparking new discoveries and ideas to defeat MND by funding new research projects that aim to understand the causes, develop effective treatments, and one day find a cure.
It is only with research that the future of MND will change. Together we will defeat MND.
