Story
Stephen Ho
15 August 1987 - 5 August 2021
Our beloved Steve loved how much Aussie life was connected to water. During his time in Australia, if he wasn’t in the ocean diving, swimming or surfing, he was taking walks along the coast with his wife Lizzie.
We tragically lost Steve to the waters on 5th August 2021, ten days before his 34th birthday. In his memory we would like to raise proceeds for a charity that was close to his heart.
Surf Life Saving Clubs are central to The Northern Beaches communities to which Steve belonged. He loved that the kids had a weekend activity which challenged them and got them in the water, which also taught them about the ocean and safety and looking after each other.
We hope to make Steve proud by bringing more resources to this worthy charity that saves lives but also brings people together, just like Steve did in his life and particularly in his community in Sydney.
Steve was a beloved son, brother, uncle and devoted husband. He is greatly missed, deeply loved and forever in our hearts.
Surf Life Saving NSW
Your donation can help save lives on our coastline TODAY! Your support goes directly towards coastal safety education, rescue and life saving equipment as well as training and development programs for our 76,000 dedicated volunteers across 129 clubs in NSW. The training Patrick Jacob (an off duty Central Coast Lifesaver) received, kicked in when he received a frantic call from his neighbour alerting him of an emergency unfolding at nearby North Entrance Beach whilst working from home. Patrick was able to act immediately and rushed into rough water conditions to rescue a 14-year-old boy who had been swept out to sea in a rip and was struggling to keep his head above water. With the vital training Patrick received from his surf lifesaving club, he was able to save this young boy and return him safely to his mother.
Throughout the 2022/23 season, over 3,500 Australians were rescued from similar, potentially fatal situations along the NSW coastline we all share and love. Your support is vital to ensuring we remain equipped and ready to save lives this summer and ensure the safety of the 7.4 million people who visit the beach each year.
