In memory of Bernie Hungerford
Story
8th September, 2009
Today our dear friend Sara and the Hungerford family suffered the loss of a very special and wonderful man. Their father, and husband, Bernard Hungerford succumbed to his fifteen year battle with motor neurone disease.
Bernard’s contribution to the community at large, his ongoing support of many organisations in his legal capacity has been admired and appreciated by all those around him and will be sadly missed.
Through the years we had the privilege of knowing Mr Hungerford, he offered numerous pieces of advice, wisdom and humour on all matters in life. To those he touched he was an outstanding person and courageous man, to those who didn't have the honour of meeting him we were shown his strength through his wife Louise, and their four children.
For those countless people who would like to express their condolences and kind words of support for the Hungerford family, in lieu of flowers we thought perhaps a donation to a cause that may aid the knowledge and understanding of this cruel disease may instead be a more heartfelt decision.
We encourage you to write your words of support on the website and donate as much or as little as you would to helping understand and eliminate Motor Neurone Disease.

‘…I am so sad to learn of Bernie’s death. I knew him almost from the beginning of his MND and have been astonished at his ability to survive for so long. He gave much and will be greatly missed by many. Thank you for your tribute to him via the web page you have set up to honour his life and to support MND research.
