PURPLE FOR PANCREATIC CANCER - Annette Grant Memorial
PURPLE FOR PANCREATIC CANCER - Annette Grant Memorial
Story
We've created this team because we want to raise money and make a difference.
100% of proceeds will be donated to the Avners Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
What feels like just yesterday, an amazing woman we all know as Mum, Nan, Annette, was taken from us.
In January of 2018 Annette was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. We didn’t even get 6 months with her after finding out.
We were fortunate enough to band together and spend as much time together as possible.
Something that made this possible was the amazingly selfless people in our lives, who donated their time & money to have an amazing outdoor area built, for us to have family gathers and make many memories with Annette, her grand babies, friends, kids & family!
Our goal is to one day be able to help other families who are affected by this insidious disease, by giving them somewhere to spend quality time with their loved ones.
We also want to raise awareness about Pancreatic Cancer and much needed funds towards research.
The Mitiamo & Marong Football Netball Clubs together, will be hosting our annual “Purple for Pancreatic Cancer” round Saturday June 8th 2019 @ the John Forbes Oval in Mitiamo - where all supporters are encouraged to wear purple!
We also have Merchandise available; Beanies $20 & wrist bands $3
*If purchasing merch please leave it in the comments section when donating so we can allocate accordingly :)*
Pancreatic Cancer is a horrible disease. It is the 9th most commonly diagnosed cancer and the 5th most common cause of cancer death. Once diagnosed, the chance of surviving for five years is just 8%, which is one of the lowest of major cancers and has improved the least in the last 30 years. The average survival of a Pancreatic Cancer patient is just 3-6 months. And yet, despite these terrifying facts, Pancreatic Cancer research gets less than 1% of available cancer funding. Please help us by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate Now' button. The more people that know about this, the greater the impact, so please also spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

PanKind Australian Pancreatic Cancer Foundation Limited
Pankind’s mission is to triple the pancreatic cancer survival rate by 2030 and significantly improve the quality of life for those impacted by the disease.
Together with our partners and community, we’re confronting pancreatic cancer head-on. Making progress a reality through groundbreaking research, compassionate support, and tireless advocacy. Because when the stakes are this high, action isn’t just important—it’s essential and urgent.
Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and for too long, progress has lagged behind. Survival rates have barely improved in decades, leaving people diagnosed feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. We’re determined to change this. We are the only Australian organisation solely dedicated to improving outcomes for those affected by pancreatic cancer.
